John McQuiston has been named as one of the top 100 lawyers in State of Tennessee, one of the top 50 lawyers in the Mid-South Region, and one of the 14 top business litigators in the City of Memphis. He has been recognized for excellence in "bet the company" litigation by Corporate Counsel magazine. Since 1993 he has been listed in the prestigious publication Best Lawyers in America for expertise in commercial litigation. His experience encompasses a broad range of complex matters including: internet and computer law; banking issues; defense of architects/engineers; securities fraud; trade secret claims; directors' and officers' liability; and insurance coverage.

He has successfully argued cases in the United States Supreme Court, the Tennessee Supreme Court, and in state and federal Courts of Appeals. See, e.g., House v Edmonson, 245 S. W. 3d 372; Allenberg Cotton Company v. Pittman, 419 U.S. 20; Howard v. Olsen, 675 S. W. 2d 154; and HMF Trust v. Bankers Trust Company, 827 S. W. 2d 296.

He is the former chairman of the Tennessee Bar Section on Antitrust and Business Torts. He has authored or co-authored: Conducting International Business Transactions in the U.S. and Foreign Countries (NBI), Technology Law in Tennessee: An Advanced Approach (NBI), Tennessee Construction Law (NBI), and Legal Issues for Engineers (2008). Mr. McQuiston is past chairman of the Board of St. Mary's Episcopal School.
