Joel Sklar concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate law and business transactions as well as real estate finance. He has been involved in the structuring of new businesses, mergers, spin-offs, and sales and acquisitions involving corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies. Mr. Sklar has done extensive work assisting his clients in the raising of venture capital and the private placement of securities. His real estate experience includes the representation of commercial real estate developers in the development of office buildings, GSA properties, multi-family properties, restaurants and convenience stores, and both landlords and tenants in the negotiation of leases.
Professionally, he is a member of the Memphis, Tennessee, Texas and American Bar Associations. Active civically, he serves on the Alumni Board of Memphis University School and the Board of the Memphis Jewish Federation.
